OK - What a mess. I went to the store and they said I had to talk to the manager - he is sending me ANOTHER 565. He says if I CONTINUE to have problems.............. Boy oh boy!!! How many problems do I need to have? I ordered a Moto Q off Ebay on impulse but I am not sure now if I should activate it? Do I need a smartphone plan? Is this a good phone as far as signal? Should I hang onto the new 565 (I was thinking of selling it on Ebay) just in case?

It's a Motorola, of course it's good. I dislike not having a touch screen about the Q, but that is a personal perference. You COULD get by on an All Axcess Pass if you want texting and Internet, but it will use your minutes. If you have additional lines, it might make sense to go Smart Choice for your family because everyone gets unlimited texting.

YOU can't do a thing to change the service agreement dates. Those are tied to equipment purchases done at less than retail price. If you purchase a phone that is used, or pay full retail, then no service agreement will be placed on the line. That's why, as you purchased the Q used, you don't HAVE to have a smartchoice package.

Yes, she did put in a code to refresh your signal and your service. If you google it, you can find it.
