Default considering alltel in roaming area

Hello,

I live in zip code 55803, but planning to move to Madison, WI area(zip 53701). Alltel does not sell their service in 55803, but it does in 53701.

Can I still get alltel service even though I live in zip code 55803?(I would like to get area code 608 wich is for Madison, WI).

If so how?

Where I live now(55803), it has a good coverage of verizon and sprint.

Thanks!

I'd say you probably could not do it until you established residence in the area. If you had a family member that already lived in an Alltel area you may try signing up with their address then switching the address when you moved.

Hi there, I put in 55803, and got all the plans they offer for that zip code. so you should still be able to get Alltel. As jay mentioned though, you won't be able to get area code 608, unless you can use the address of someone from madison.

Thank you for your relpy. Yes, I do have a relative living in Madison, so I can just put thier address and my name as a name? In addtion, I will be 100% roaming for a while. Would that be o.k.?

Alltel Circle is very attractive, and that's the main reason for considering switching to Alltel

You know, as long as Alltel is available in 55803, (that's duluth, MN, right?) you may be just better off getting a service with them with your now area code & address and then changing it to the area code and address in Madison when you move.

I think this would be cleaner than using someone else's address.

you can easily use an alternative address and change it after you move so you can get the 608 area code. your billings can come by email and be paid electronically. if roaming is an issue, check out the total freedom plan.

Talking Re: considering alltel in roaming area

Yes you can. I live 100 miles away from where I purchased my service and my phone works fine. My phone stays on roam, but since we chose the plan with free roaming, we don't get charged. Our phones work fine. You just need to check your coverage map to make sure your phone will work where you are, other than that, you should be ok with your roaming. Just make sure the plan you choose has free roaming on it. Just get your plan in the area where it works, and then move with it!
The only drawback is that people need to be reminded that when they call you, it will be long distance unless they call you from a cell phone that has free long distance, and they MUST dial the area code first. Plus, when I make a call on my cell, I have to always dial the area code...that's the only thing...

See my parents live 100 miles from me and when we went to visit them, we just decided that since it was such a good family plan we decided to go with Alltel. We got the plan that has like 1000 anytime minutes free nights/weekends and free roaming with the my circle. So basically we don't use any of our anytime minutes because we don't call that many people we don't know, and the ones we do are on "my circle" network!

It really is a win win...so I say GO FOR IT!

Yes with the alternate address. You should be fine on national freedom plan....

Just be careful if you go with National Freedom, because it is possible to incur roaming charges. The so-called limit on M2M with the Total Freedom plan has never been enforced, but the 1000 per phone N/W limit is. we have 5 phones and only 500 minutes to share, and we've never had to pay for going over.
