Question Questions about SimpleFreedom Prepaid and Alltel U prepaid

Hello everyone,

I hope someone can clue me in to this because the more I try to figure this out the more confusing this gets.

First thing. I got a text message that said that SimpleFreedom Prepaid was changing to Alltel U prepaid. OK fine I didn't do anything. I have been going along with my same phone and phone number.

But then I noticed a problem. With SimpleFreedom people were able to send me text messages from an email addresss:

"mynumber@text.simplefreedom.net"

This email address doesn't work anymore. I called the customer service #(1-800-335-6401) twice and each time they gave me an email address to try but they didn't work.

And now I may be wrong but from what I am reading here on the web is that when Alltel gets done switching SimpleFreedom prepaid to Alltel U Prepaid my phone and # may not work at all.

So I guess I am asking 2 questions. first does anyone know of the email address so that people on the web can send messages to my phone or has this service been deactivated?

and 2 is my phone at some point going to quit working altogether?

Alltel postpaid (not sure about prepaid) customers can receive text messages at:

mynumber@message.alltel.com

Try that and see if it works for you.

Here is some answers:

#1- The email they gave you is right :#@message.alltel.com

#2- Your service will not be disconnected. You will be given some Alltel U Plan options but its up to u if you want to switch. You can keep your simple freedom plan if you want.

Hi again everyone,

Thanks for the replies but the address

mynumber@message.alltel.com

doesn't work with the simplefreedom prepaid. When I tried to send a message using this address this is a the reply I got.

This Message was undeliverable due to the following reason:

Each of the following recipients was rejected by a remote mail server.
The reasons given by the server are included to help you determine why
each recipient was rejected.

Recipient: <XXXXXXXXXX@message.alltel.com>
Reason: Specified address was invalid:


Please reply to <Postmaster@message.alltel.com>
if you feel this message to be in error.


But again thanks for trying. I am starting to consider leaving alltel and going with At&t

Try sending a message to your e-mail from the phone ...
Then check your e-mail to see where the message originated from ...

That's how I initially found mine
