Alltel Corp. has added a news release to its Investor Relations website. Title: Alltel Wireless Debuts EVDO Wireless Broadband Service in Nebraska Date: 1/5/2007 9:07:00 AM Alltel's Axcess Broadband Now Extends from Lincoln and Omaha to Scottsbluff; EVDO Technology Delivers Wireless Data at Speeds Comparable to Cable or DSL LINCOLN, Neb.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 5, 2007--Alltel Wireless (NYSE: AT), America's largest network, now offers the largest wireless broadband coverage area in Nebraska. No other carrier matches Alltel's Axcess Broadband footprint, which stretches from Lincoln and Omaha west to Scottsbluff. This new coverage complements Alltel's extensive Axcess Broadband network in neighboring Kansas. Alltel's next-generation EVDO (evolution data optimized) technology provides customers with unlimited wireless access to the Internet at speeds comparable to wired broadband connections such as cable modem or DSL. Other Nebraska communities now served by Axcess Broadband include Norfolk, Columbus, Grand Island, Beatrice and North Platte. Axcess Broadband makes it easy to surf the Internet, access e-mail and calendars and download large, graphic-rich files while on the go. Using the service, customers can access advanced business, news and entertainment applications from their laptops, smartphones or handsets at average speeds of 400 to 700 Kbps with maximum speeds of up to 2.4 Mbps. "Alltel Wireless is committed to meeting the growing data needs of our customers," said Jay Ortman, vice president of business solutions for Alltel Wireless in Nebraska. "Axcess Broadband wireless Internet service delivers an unmatched wireless broadband experience that will keep both traveling business professionals and casual users connected with the fastest and most reliable data services." Alltel is expanding its high-speed network across the country, giving it one of the largest EVDO footprints of any carrier. Axcess Broadband service is available in metropolitan areas such as Phoenix, Charlotte, Tampa and Cleveland; in smaller cities such as Little Rock, Ark., Wilmington, N.C., and Savannah, Ga., and in towns such as Killeen, Texas; Dothan, Ala., and Durango, Colo. Axcess Broadband is available for $59.99 a month for unlimited use with qualifying voice plans. In addition to supporting a wide range of productivity enhancing business applications, it enables Alltel's Axcess TV, with more than 25 channels, and XM radio, with 20 of the best satellite radio music channels. To experience the high-speed network, customers will need an EVDO-capable handset, such as the silver or fire red MOTORAZR V3m, or a laptop PC data card, such as the Kyocera Passport 1xEVDO PC Card. For more information on Axcess devices, visit an Alltel Wireless retail store or log on to www.alltel.com. Alltel is owner and operator of the nation's largest wireless network and has more than 11 million wireless customers.
