I think Alltel is rolling out Ev-Do in Rogers City, Michigan. This morning my phone said [ev] for about 20 minutes then went back to normal. I think they are putting it up in my area because in Rogers City, they are putting up the biggest power plants in northeast sector of the US. And there are probably going to be over a thousand business people moving into Rogers City. Anyone working at Alltel, could you check if they are really putting up Ev-Do in my area?? That would be great |

I don't work for Alltel, but alltelwirelesstech said that the Grand Rapids market is going EVDO, I think pretty much anything north of Grand Rapids in the LP is considered the GR market.

Usually Grand Rapids, Muskegon and Holland are referred to as the G.R. market. That pretty much includes Kent, Muskegon and Ottawa counties. for a total of about 1.8 million pop's.

| Oh, the only reason I say that is because alltelwirelesstech mentioned in a post a while ago that the GR switch market is being upgraded to EVDO and someone near rogers city was having trouble with a tower while they were working on it. I want to see them get EVDO in Kalamazoo....

My understanding is anything north of GR is part of the GR 'area', that Kzoo and south is a different 'area'. But I have been wrong before. |

thats correct. heres the bad part though. if alltel has 1x in an area that sprint has EVDO, the phone or data card will still prefer alltel 1x over sprint evdo
