-Sleek Slider Phone is a Powerful Device for Cricket Customers-

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung) and Cricket Communications, Inc., the operating subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc., and a leading provider of unlimited wireless services, today announced the availability of the Samsung SCH-r610 handset to Cricket customers.

“The SCH-r610 is a slick and powerful device that will help our customers take full advantage of Cricket’s array of unlimited wireless voice and data services,” said Sergio Garcia, director of device strategy for Cricket. “The handset’s ultra-slim form factor makes it an ideal addition to Cricket’s product portfolio, especially since our customers rely on Cricket for most of their communications needs, talking more than 1,500 minutes per month on average.”

The SCH-r610 features an internal antenna, a high-resolution, 262K TFT display, EVDO: CDMA 800/PCS 1900MHz, MP3 player with microSD memory slot, BREW 3.14, 1.3MP camera, WAP 2.0, stereo Bluetooth® and a loud, clear speaker phone. The SCH-r610 measures 4.06 x 1.96 x .5 inches and weighs 2.92 ounces—with digital talk time up to 3 hours(a) and standby time up to 350 hours(a).

“The SCH-r610 is a popular and sleek slider-style device,” said Peter Skarzynksi, senior vice president, Samsung. “We are excited for the opportunity to offer the r610 to Cricket customers. We believe that given its sleek design and wide range of features, it will be a hit with those looking to stay in contact through wireless voice and messaging services.”

The SCH-r610 is data capable, supporting Cricket’s Mobile Web, which allows customers to browse news, entertainment, sports, and chat, and personalize their handsets with the latest ringtones and graphics. It will also allow customers to download games with Cricket Games & Apps.

The SCH-r610 phone is available at select Cricket retail stores and Cricket dealers immediately for $249.99. For more information, please visit a local Cricket retail location, or online visit Wireless Carrier | Cricket Wireless | Home or mobile phones SAMSUNG.

(a) Talk and standby times will vary depending on phone usage patterns and conditions. Battery power consumption depends on factors such as network configuration, signal strength, operating temperature, features selected, vibrate mode, backlight settings, browser use, frequency of calls and voice, data and other application usage patterns.
