Why does Tracfone have more phones than Net10 if they are ran by the same company?

Images: 21 | I am not sure why Net10 has more available handsets than TracFone. You might consider contacting customer service for one or both companies to ask that question. I don't know if anyone on Wireless Advisor has the answer to your question.

I didn't know Net10 was provided by Tracfone. That's like an MVNO of an MVNO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Net10_Wireless

The questions that you're asking can probably be answered by a thorough search of Net10 and TracFone's websites. TracFone Net10 If that doesn't work try contacting TracFone Customer Service or Net10 Customer Service. Quote:

They just wrote me back again and helped me. Dear Valued Customer, Even when NET10 Wireless is a subsidiary of TracFone Wireless, both are different companies and provide different services. NET10 Wireless has a special prepaid technology that is built into each wireless phone. For this reason, you will not be able to use another GSM phone with our service, even if you install a NET10 SIM card into it. To switch to our service, you will need to purchase a NET10 phone. Net10 only provides GSM coverage. GSM stands for Global System for Mobile Communications. This new standard in wireless communications allows you to place local, Long Distance and Roaming Calls (calls placed or received outside your local calling area) at no additional cost. For this reason, NET10 provides every single call at one low rate of 10c. per minute, with no other access fees. NET10 uses the wireless networks of major wireless Carriers across the US. Therefore, NET10 phones will operate in 99% of the areas where GSM coverage is available. For more details, please visit our website at www.net10.com Thank you for giving us the opportunity to service your cellular needs. Sincerely, Net10 Wireless, Inc. |

Not on Net10... VZW and Sprint had that type of phone. If one can be had, the phone can be quite expensive.
