Every so often I like to remind everyone what can happen when you lose focus... you can create the most horrible, hideous wireless phone with the most useless "special" feature ever! Of course I speak of the Curitel GA-400B aka the Curitel Identity aka the Kyocera Kurv. Good lord, it still hurts to look at that thing. GAH!

I remember something about this phone. Did any wireless provider pick this up, if so I bet that was a loss. I know I wouldn't have bought it that’s for sure.

A regional provider here in the states picked it up. I think it was CellularOne... not quite sure.

Yes, it was Dobson, not CellularONE-Western Wireless... if we had gotten that phone I would have quit on general principle.

I didn't mean Western Wireless though... they're CDMA and the Identity is a GSM phone.

Why is Dobson still selling this piece of

? Can't they get rid of them all? How long have they been selling this phone and who in their right mind would pay $99 (the advertised price with 2-year contract) for one of them?

Is there anyone who is a member of the Wireless Advisor Forums who has this abominable handset? If so, I want to hear about your experience with it. Also, please tell me why you decided on this particular phone.

Are you seriously telling me that they are still selling this? Thank God Kyocera isn't part of this anymore... they're getting really good and this would drag them down.

Yes, yes I am. I have never seen anyone, anywhere, ever use this phone. I don't understand how anyone thought this was a good idea. I can't believe it is still offered and not for free.
