Has anyone had any problems with the Idle Banner. When I first got the phone, which seems to be on the latest software version 111.030, the Wallpaper took up the entire possible screen. I went into the advance settings (power on the phone, 289, F, #,1) I went in there, and I entered the Idle Banner, and edited it. After restarting the cell phone, I didn't like how the idle banner looked, so I took it out, but now the upper portian of the Wallpaper is dimmed where the idle banner would go. Does anyone know how to setup the wallpaper up to take up the entire screen as before when it was first purchased. Also, today I did the update for roaming (*228, send), and now the idle banner is "Verizon Wireless" which wasn' there before, and I can't get rid of it. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

ok there is some confusion about the idle banner. The idle banner will only show up when the phone is in idle mode i.e. not being used. The idle banner is located on top pf the wallpaper where it says "verizon wireless". The banner will become the "active banner" when the phone is being used and the "idle banner" when not. Now the dimming problem, the dimmnes (?) of the banner is wallpaper dependent. Darker wallpapers have a darker banner, while bright wallpapers have a more bright banner. Any confusion still, just post. PS anyone know how to change the "ACTIVE BANNER"!!!!! MaZe |

Speaking of advanced settings, what is the best slot cycle rate for the Audio 9500 with Verizon? I recall that the Samsung A310 was supposed to be set at 3. Should this be changed to 3 on the Audio 9500 also? Can one use the advanced settings to set voice to 13K instead of EVRC? Thanks in advance. Suliman |

Nothing will really happen. I've done that before. Verizon tower still gets a priority and overides EVRC if only 13K mode is used in the area.

I thought I had read somewhere that if you force the phone to stay on 13K, the quality of the call would be better. If not, I guess I should change the setting back to default. Anyone knowledgable about this subject??

*MAZE* Thanks for your response to my problem. As for the dimmness of the upper portian of the wallpaper, it wasn't there prior to be editing the idle banner. In all honesty when I got the phone, there wasn't any idle banner there, no "Verizon Wireless." The Verizon Wireless came up only after I did the *228 SEND. My Get It Now hasn't been working, so what I may do is to exchange my phone, cause that seems to be what some other users have done, and now there G.I.N has been working. Hopefully I will get a phone that didn't have a idle banner as I did originally. Thanks! |

This goes back to my original hypothesis of the two versions of the phone. My original phone did not work with get it now and did have idle banner problems. I returned it and I dont have problems with either now. I spoke to a tech at verizon who returned the 9500 for T720 because he felt his 9500 was defective out the box again, due to the idle banner problems. My new 9500 has no problems with get it now! (which still $ux anyway), the idle banner, and the speakerphone and headset is much louder. CHANGE YOUR PHONE! It is the only way out trust me. Ok fellas the T720 team is making progress in crackin their phone we MUST do the same. We have several leads including the "download fun" function that we need to exploit. WHO IS DOWN WITH ME TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN??? MaZe -its not cracking, its reclaiming |

What was the first phone's software version and what is the second phone's version? Mine is 111.030. I got my phone about 3 weeks ago.

I "borrowed" this post from alt.cellular.verizon. It is the syntax to log onto WAP Yahoo and include your UID and password in one string to save having to to it later. I tried it this afternoon and it works like a charm: into Menu -> Settings -> Browser Setup -> New Entry and set the IP to the IP listed on that waptunnel page (207.232.99.109) port 9201. Then, you enter the following URL as your homepage and you'll get right to your customized page on Yahoo! http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/raw?dp=login...UID&passwd=PWD Just replace the letters UID with your Yahoo login and the letters PWD with your Yahoo password. Enjoy. Suliman |
