In particular, the Kyocera and Audiovox appears to have been engineered at the Yugo plant in Czech Republic. It is just 20 years behind the times. Question: Why did Verizon choose these phones? Maybe the Purchasing Manager at Verizon received kickbacks from Kyocera/Audiovox. Regardless, I think Sprint and T-Mobile has the best "looking" phones in the industry. What do you think? |

I agree, I don't know what they are thinking... they may have the best coverate, so they think they can get away with it... but soon all of the carriers will have very similar coverage, and then their going to be in trouble... I signed up with Verizon last year thinking something better would come this year... but still nothing, not even a single nokia. Their phone lineup right now is junk, they have the flawed T720 the 2 junky audiovox color screen phones, the outdated and overpriced V60... I've finally decided that unless there aren't some good handsets for christmas, I'm switching.

Just because Verizon isn't carrying a cool nokia doesn't make them suck. Boo hoo no nokias (that 3285 doesn't count lol). I think Verizon will start to have better phones. I personally think Nokias are too simple, and in the end boring, for most of them anyway. I hope they take a cue from Sprint and start get in better phones. But, really a phone is a phone first, and while it may not be so dang cool, at least it can make calls in many more places. Plus Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile have a head start with coverage now, they can continue to build their networks out and not switch, I don't expect to see Cingular or ATT expanding much beyond what their TDMA network is now. CDMA will be the coverage leader, albeit with slightly less 'cooler' phones.

The pictures on the various websites don't do these phones justice. I agrre, they both look pretty ugly in pictures but after seeing the audiovox and its display, my mind was changed. The verdict is still out on the Kyocera, we'll have to see what it's like when it becomes available.
