Which do you prefer Flip phone or triangle phone like Nokia model? Are Flip phone in fashion? Than a triangle phone? Or the other way around? What do you think?

I prefer the small candybar style phones like the Nokias, however, most of the phones I have owned have been either flip or clamshell design. I think any phone that has the right features, is reliable, has decent sound and RF performance is the phone to go with. It doesn't matter whether it is a flip or not to me, as long as it works and has the features I am looking for.

I like clamshell (flip) phones so much better than candybar style phones.

I personally like flip phones, but I know the way I abuse phones the hinge would break. I'm the opposite of Rallykid: I prefer clamshells but have owned Nokias, for personal practical reasons.

I've used a Nokia phone and when forced to carry it in my pocket, I've found that buttons will get hit due to my movement. It hasn't made any calls, but I see how it could, if you use the one-touch dialing feature. I used a friends flip phone and liked it. You could see the screen before you flipped open the clamshell. That's important. I'll be switching services soon and will get another triangle phone, because that's what's offered for free. Bottom line, it's a matter of taste and I have liked the Nokia. |

Candy bar style, easier to answer, flip won't get cought on clothes when putting the phone in a pocket, etc.

I had a Nokia 3360 (Candybar).....and loved it. But I like my V60t (flip) much better. Since I always carry my phone on my hip the clam shell design is much more practical because my screen and keypad are always protected. |

I have had experience with both the Clamshell/flip and the candybar Nokia style. Each has it's good point and bad. I currently use a Motorola V60C with US Cellular, the phone/feature set is wonderful, but you think Motorola could come up with a fixed stubby antenna for that line, the retractable antenna that is standard is a little flimsy and makes putting the phone in your pocket and getting it back out quickly a little tough. Nokia on the other hand, has the the 8200 series with internal antenna's and the phones slide in out of your pocket with great ease, nothing to get hung up! This V60C is the first Moto I have owned since the old Motorola DPC 550! talk about a brick! It would seem Motorola is starting to get some market share back from Nokia, some great new styles and features, but there are two things they need to work on 1. ringtone downloading is a real pain in the keister with Moto and painfree with Nokia. Antennas on Moto need to be fixed or internal if possible(picture the V60 series with no protruding antenna, too cool for words!) I realize these differences have something to do with TDMA vs. CDMA etc. so they may not be addressable in the manner I would like. |
