Default Sanyo 5300 picture question.

Just wondering if anyone knows if this pic is bogus or if the new Sanyo 5300's screen will actually look like this. I believe the new one supposedly has 500 (? i think) more colors than the n400 and my n400 never looked that good.

The display has 65,536 (something like that) colors, and 310,000 pixels. I don't know how many pixels or colors the n400 has, or if it is color, for that matter. I have the A500 and that only has 4096 colors and 128 x 160 pixels. The A500 has a TFT display, but so does the 5300. So, it should be pretty neat. I hope this helps you.

no phone displays have 310,000 pixels - that's like a 640 x 480 screen... the 310,000 pixel spec is for the picture that the phone is able to take...

Personally, I have to say BS to that pic. The signal bars and batteryicon indicator are fuzzy, yet the picture is crystal clear??? Looks like somebody at Sanyo knows how to use Photoshop.

I agree to a point. This screen is the same quality as many PDAs I have seen - looks realistic enough to me. But promotional pictures such as this are rarely undoctored - we need for someone who has one in their possession to post a REAL pic. The best I have seen was in another thread - dimensions and RF testing pics. Unfortunately they didn't have high-res pics on the screen while they were capturing the testing process. Let me see if I can find the links...

I don't know much about this stuff. Sorry. But, do you know the pixel size on this phone? I can't find it ANYWHERE!!! I know the A500 says 128 x 160, but the 5300, no info.

Here is a link to a picture of the phone's display. It looks to be fairly accurate- not doctored as much as others I've seen.

It's me, the one who doesn't know much about the pixel thing. I have found out that the display on the Sanyo 5300 has a 132 x 176 pixel size and 65,536 color TFT display. Better than the A500's 128 x 160 pixel size. Thank god.

Does anyone know how the free memory thing will work on the phone? You know, the A500 has free space you can do anything with, but, the old Sanyo 5150, you could have like 20 small midis and 2 large ones. I would think that it would just be free space, because, the games are all different sizes. But, they could be jerks about it and make it hard like it was on the 5150.

    Anybody know?

Actually this is a photo of the dummy model sent to Sprinticon and Radio Shack stores 2 weeks ago.

I was going nuts not being able to find out the pixels etc... I asked the guy at PhoneScoop, he didn't know either. But, he said he would check around and get back to me because he also wanted to know. He got back to me soon afterwards, told me that Sprinticon was being all BUT cooperative but Sanyo was willing to help. Now, the specs are on the site. Hope that this helps.

Do you know when it will be out?

Me again, the one with the spec info. I was replying to the person who asked where I got the specs.
