After reading many posts here about the VX1 and 510, I decided on the 510 mainly because of the voice dialing. A friend of mine bought a VX1 from RS through Sprint. I was talking to him last night on the land line about my voice dialing, and he started looking at his. He has voice dialing. We confirmed it. What gives?

For some odd reason....Verizon did not want LG to put the voice dialing on the VX1..probably to make more money and have people purchase the v60c and v60i. Mayve the vx10 will have it....

It don't matter to me...I have the v60c and I never used the voice dialing. I am not to lazy to dial someone in speed dial.

Perhaps he has the TM520. That is identical to the VX1 except it has voice capability and is currently carried by the Canadian mobile company "Telus". Verify he has a VX-1 and not a TM520. You can do this by removing the battery and looking at "Model No:". The VX-1 will say "VX1". Funny thing the FCC ID for the VX1 is "BEJTM520"! Everything for the VX-1 is actually branded for the TM-520. The plastic carrying case (look at underneath the belt clip), etc. So... what does your friends say under "Model No:"? If it says "VX1" I want to go to a Sprint store and get a firmware upgrade!!!! Assuming all this is true it would probably make my phone unusable on VZW! Let us know when you find out!! Matthew

He's in the US, so I doubt it's a 520, but I will ask him to check.

One interesting note though... The some accessories for the 5250 ARE compatible with the VX1 / TM520. Matthew
