Can someone shed some light on reception quality for LG TM-510 compared to Samsung N300 phone? I've recently switched from Sprint's Samsung 8500 to Verizon's Samsung N300 and am not too impressed with signal strength on N300 over Sprint in my house. Tried LG VX1 but the signal appears to be very similar to N300. Also, is it true that there is a software update for LG TM-510 that would alphabetize the phone book? Thanks in advance. |

I can't tell you about the N300, but the LG 510 gets a great signal pretty much everywhere I go. I have it with Verizon, and my girlfriend has a Nokia6161 with Cellular One. I get service in places she only dreams of. What do you think of the N300's battery life and reception? I was thinking of getting one. The LG 510 has a terrible battery life, and I just need more battery since I go through analog areas alot. |

First, thanks for your reply. I have had the N300 for several days and charge it once every 2 days as the 3-bar battery icon looses 1 bar at the end of the second day. The phone is not talked on frequently, but does lose the signal quite often in my apartment building. Searching for digital signal, as you may know, is the number one battery killer. If I had to estimate, I'd say I can go 4-5 days without recharging easy. My sister has an LG TM-510 (we both use Verizon), and she talks on it a lot more than I (she's got a rate plan, I have FreeUp). Her phone discharges almost completely in 2 days or less with moderate use. I think her phone may be more signal-sensitive than my N300, but wanted a second opinion. |

You can reset your LG 510 so that it will talk to the tower less. This is supposed to increase the battery life. I just did it today, so I'll let you know. Thanks for the info. on the N300. If you're interested in reprogramming the LG there's a thread in this forum titled "Programming the LG510". It gives pretty good instructions.
