Default Tri-Band antenna for Hands Free Kit and v60

I have just switched from AT&T to Verizon in the Tampa, Florida area. I had a v60t and know I have a v60c. AT&T in may area in 1996 was and still is 800 mhtz so when I had the Hands free kit installed in my truck originally for my star-tac they did not use a tri-band antenna. When I got the v60t all I had to do was replace the hang up cup for the star-tac. This week after I got the new verizon phone, the phone has great Verizon signal outside of the hands free kit, when it is put in the kit it goes to extended area (Alltel) which is the 800 mhtz B-side in my area. After about three trips to the verizon store I found out the antenna was only 800 mhtz. My question is what is a very good tri-band antenna and if any one knows anything about 3 watt booster for the tri-band digital phones.
Thanks,
James

The good news and the bad news:

You cannot boost 1900 mhz digital to 3W...I am not an RF engineer but there is some technical reason why it cannot be done...

The good news: You can swap the antenna yourself in less than 5 minutes....

The best ones out there are manufactured by either Antenna Specialists (AS), Radiallarsen; or Smarteq. Avoid the Andrew ones..they tend not to work as well.

Heres what you do:

1.) Examine your glass mount to make sure that you can unscrew the wire on the inside of the window...hopefully the antenna that was installed has a coupler on the box...if its hard wired you will have to tear everything out...but if its just screwed on, you are OK.

2.) Head over to an AT&T wireless store and purchase a dual-band glass mount antenna. They charge about $40.

3.) Follow the instructions to install....you can use the existing wiriing.

NOTE - If you have to replace the hardwiring because its all one piece at the glass, then you can purchase a dual band glass mount at Pep Boys...they sell them there but the ones they sell are "1 piece" as well.
parthery has left the building.
