I wanted everyone's opinion on which is the best speakerphone by Verizon right now.... IS it the Motorola 270C Kyocera 3035 or the new Audiovox 9155 (i saw that phone for the first time and the battery life looked lousy on that phone) Any others... Also what about ATT such as the Panasonic but I dont know which version... Let me know It's either the ALLURE or the DuraMAX.... Are all these speakerphones two-way speakerphones? Seth |

While I think that the 3035 is an awesome phone and even better now that it supports brew, the audixvox 9155 is very intreging. The phone has a good speaker and has GPS and express network. Its a good featured phone for about $149.99 with a two year agreement, but if you want a good phone at an even better price, do the 3035. $49.99 after $50.00 mail in rebate on a 2 year agreement.

Well I heard good things about both phones but I agree that I have heard better about the 270c in which the speakerphone lured me into buying the phone in the first place. I dont think I would buy another phone without one. I saw the 9155 in the mall though and was curious about it. It is still brand new but the battery talk time wasnt that great at 135 minutes talk time. And congrats to myself, I am no longer a junior member on this forum... My 22nd post.....

I am on my 5th 270c! I have had nothing but trouble with my phones, and I have only had it for 2 months. i have another brand new one on order, I am tired of the refurbs from the shop. It has mostly been software trouble, but I did have one hardware problem.

I did send my 270c for a software upgrade because I brought my phone through ALLTEL and activated it on VZW. 5 times? WHat was wrong with your phone anonymous. WHich software version do you have? I have 2101.03.28.05. Is that the one you have... This was the software version as of March. DO you have the America Choice Plan. If you do do you have the ERI or not. I dont I still have the triangle on top to tell me if I am flashing roam or roaming. Let me know..

Hey Jack.... Have you bench tested the 3035... Are you happy with your 270C? How is the speakerphone sound on the 3035 and your 270C Jack.... |

I really like my 270c, I think it is a great phone filled with great calling features--the speaker phone works great, I just clip it to my visor....and so does the voice activated dialing--my spouse has the v60--both phones share the charging unit --FM headset, etc... the differences between the 270 and v60 are ofcourse speaker and flip... Never used the kyocera 3035--but if you have noticed this phone is coming down in price super fast---compare to some other phones verizon carries----what's that tell you.. |

I guess Anonymous does that mean that the 3035 is not as good of a phone since it is coming down in price and they are not selling it... The 270 has never really made it to the midwest market yet either and still worth more than the 3035.... Is that what you mean,,,,

Go with the 3035 because it is upgradable for brew. I have the 270c and have had some problems with the phone Jack

I have a Motorola 270c and it has a great speakerphone. I get many comments from people I talk to that they couldn't tell I had the speakerphone on. The sound quality is very clear. It's a great phone! Greg |

On the Mot 270c, the keypad lock (Not code lock) kept coming off. I hit menu * to lock it and several minutes later, it unlocks. I went through 3 phones and then i got sick of it when it started dialing numbers i had in spead dial when the phone should have been locked. i returned it the 3rd time and got the v60c. Anyone elese have this problem? Also, with the v60c, I have the Americas Choice Plan. Sometimes a triangle comes up on it (roaming indicator) here in NYC where I live...weird, but.. I thought the BANNER should jump from Verizon Wireless to EXTENDED NETWORK or ROAMING. It just totally dispears...so how do I know if I am on the extended network or actually roaming. Joe |

If the roaming indicator is flashing you are on the extended network and home rates will apply but other features such as mobile to mobile may not be availible... If the roaming indicator is solid that means you are roaming and roaming rates will apply if you are on the AC plan.... Hope this helps...

I own both the 3035, my wifes phone, and the 9155,my phone. I do like both phones but have only used them for about 1 1/2 weeks now. The 3035 has some great utilities and tools but the navigation button does take some getting used to and sometimes luck. The speaker phone seems to work pretty good at distances from the speaker less than 2 feet. Besides that, it is a good phone for $29. As for the 9155, the speaker phone is very good. The speaker sounds great and other people that call me tell me it sounds good on there side, but yet they can tell when on speaker phone and not. It holds a signal great, even in low signal areas unlike the 3035 which has dropped a few calls in weak areas. My main problem with the 9155 is the battery life. Maybe I am expecting too much but I cant get more than about 50 minutes of talk time, spread out over the course of a day, then it dies. I was thinking of trading the 3035 in for a samsung t300, is anyone familiar with that phone?

I don't know about the 3035 or the 9155 since I havent owned them, but I do have a 270c and have been using it since last November when it first came out. I have never had to take it in or get it replaced. In the past 9 months, the only time I called Customer Service for help one time when my voice-mail indicator was on, but I had no voicemail and they fixed that on their system in 5 mins. As for the speakerphone. I havent had any problems with it. I have it clipped to my visor when I'm in my car too. The menu is easy to use and I love the joystick. The only problem I have with it is that you cant place multiple numbers under one contact when you view your phonebook. And that becomes a pain...I dread having to call someone with a first name starting with a "J"...too many of them I tell you. =) |

Hey Joe, Actually, quite the opposite...sometimes I have to do it twice to UNlock the keypad...as if it doesnt recognize the sequence. It happens very rarely, but it does...but it could just be my dumbass. =) Also, I'd appreciate it if you could give me your opinion on this thread. Thanx. ~ Ketan aka DaCurryman |

Katan, I read that thread. I like Verizon. I live in NYC (Staten Island to be exact) and voicestream works horrible everywhere...my friend has it. I've had Verison for 5 years now and I love it. There may be a dead sport here and there (as with any carrier), but overall, Verizon coverage is the best. I'd either get the vx1 or wait for the upcoming vx-10. Personally even though the v60c is a great phone, it just feels cheap (antenna and faceplate). I have the extended battery for it (1100mAh) and its hard to find good cases for it to hold this larger battery. Motorola only puts 1 out and I've been through 3 of them already. I had the 270c before this and got rid of it cause the # lock keft coming off and it was dialing #'s I had stored. I have to say that Motorola quality has dropped a lot lately. Personally, even though I never see a vx1 in person or used one, it still looks like a better made phone, and even cheaper. I also like that you can store multiple numbers to one address entry (although I hear it takes several key strokes to get to). I'd go for the vx1 or the vx10. Let me know what you decide. Happy Hunting! | |
