Ok, now I know why SO MANY people have recommended the T300, because it is one sweet-___ phone! I just went to Radio Shack and they had a working version there (I certainly recommend finding a working one to play with before buying, the graphics are a must see), so I got a chance to fool around a bit -- I think the salesman was getting pretty annoyed, but that's beside the point -- the thing is awesome! I'd like to get a couple of peoples oppinions and input about the phone. I'm deciding between it and the V60c and since the T is so much newer it's a bit more difficult finding reviews of it. Here are a few things I'd like to know: - Can the phone book be alphabetized (unlike the LG?), and can you have multiple contacts per entry - Does the phone allow for ring & vibrate at the same time or is it one or the other - Can you talk while the flip is closed or will it only work if the flip is open - Are the menu's/soft keys programmable to act as quick keys (similar to the v60c) or are the buttons static Aside from that, I guess my only other small reservation is that the "joy stick" seems like it could be a bit clumsy to use or it may get worn out, is this a problem or not (I will say, the joystick is maybe one of the sweetest features I've seen on the newest phones). Thanks for all of your input, I'm pretty stoked about this thing, big kudos to Samsung! |

That's what I've been trying to tell people... 1. The phone book is alphabatized with multiple entries per name (mobile, fax, home, work, email, speed dial, voice dial). 2. The phone does not allow for ring & vibrate. 3. You can talk while the flip is closed. 4. The menu and clear key are not programmable and do not act as quick keys. 5. I have had no problems with the joystick and find it very functional. If you have any other questions, please let me know...I love extolling the features of this phone! Also check out the Samsung T300 Users Group. We have about 50 members now and are growing quickly! |

sorry...that was my post above. I forgot to login. Second time I've done that today. Anyway...I wanted to add that you can set the phone to answer the call with the press of any button, in that way you can make the menu/clear keys function for answering calls. |

My appologies Malial, I just saw all of your posts over at the HC site and I now realize you must get tired of repeating yourself! Although, after now having seen the phone first hand, I can tell why you want to "spread the good word"! I'm kinda getting a kick out of the whole "no ring-then-vibrate" discussion, it seems like its been a bonding point for T300 users.... ....sorta like how we Cingular users bond over the fact that our phones are voide of one little feature -- RECEPTION!! |

As a proud T300 user and owner, I will have to put my vote in favor of it over the V60C. Working at Radio Shack, I get a chance to play around with the phones(though not Sprint ones, no service here in Ukiah, CA yet)and other than the external LCD and datebook, there is no difference in the OS between it and the 120C. In other words, the V60C is in my opinion Way overpriced, you are paying for the "sexy" factor more than anything. And with the downloadable pics and ringtones, it beats the 60 hands down, or hands free, whichever you prefer lol If you need any more opinions or info, go ahead and pick my brain, though you might have slim pickings LOL Oh, and Malial, sorry I haven't posted on the T300 Yahoo group, I promise to do better

Thanks for the advice ILUV, listen, I'd like to pick your brain specifically about Radio Shack. In my area I've only been able to find the phone at RS, so therefor I'd love to purchase it there. But when I went there and asked about their return policy they told me that after 5 hours of usage I'd have to pay $150 for cancellation (similar to the Cingular policy) unlike the policy from Verizon directly (the 15 day return window). Now, are they pulling my leg or is that the policy of RS. I can see why they don't want to take returns but considering Verizon take phones back I assumed RS would follow suit. I certainly don't intend to return the phone, I just find it critical to actually try the phone out for a few days prior to being locked-in for the next 1-2 years. Thanks a lot for your help!! |

Did you go into a company store or a franchise one? Because if it was a company store, the guy/girl who told you that had been smoking something. It is 15 days to cancel your service with Verizon to avoid a penalty with them, but you do have a full 30 days with Radio Shack to return the actual phone, with no penalty, and with a full refund for the purchase price. And I don't know where they got the 5 hours thing, we do not check airtime usage on the phone when returned. Hey, by the way, did you say you were in So Cal? I was born and raised down there(born in Riverside, grew up in West Covina) I'm trying to get back down there, I miss it a lot! And I could take the train to work, no more freeways!! Anyways, hope this helps

See, I knew it!! The Shack is usually pretty consumer friendly, I think I just stumbled upon a crummy store. Is there any way to search for company stores easily? (like on the net or by calling somewhere) Or do I have to ask each store individually? Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones living in LA, I actually live on the west side over by Santa Monica/Venice. I can't blame you for wanting to get back down here, IMHO this place is as good as it gets -- but that's just how I feel. Well, speaking from experience I could tell you that at the very least, some Radio Shacks good use your help!! Thanks again for the help |

you should be able to go to RadioShack.com and search for stores by zip code.

Is this the same phone as the n300? Verizon has the n300 listed on their website. When I went to US Cellular last week and inquired about getting a different phone that they didn't stock they told me to look for a dual or tri mode CDMA phone. They also told me that if a phone worked with Verizon it would most likely work with their network. Anyone know where I could buy this phone off-contract? |

The T300 is different then the N300. Verizon is still isn't offering it in all areas yet. The phone has been appearing on eBay a lot. Last time I looked (yesterday) there were 3 brand new T300's for Verizon on eBay. |

The T300 and N300 are different phones. Simplified differences: T300 is a business oriented, N300 is casual user oriented. CNet has reviews of both: T300 and N300. Now for some reason, Verizon does not sell the T300 on its website. Also, it does not sell the N300 or T300 in the Verizon Stores (well least the two closest to me). I've heard rumors about why, but thats all I've heard. The T300 compares best against the Motorola 270c (CNet review here). But I like the form factor on the T300 better. They are about the same height and width, but the T300 is about half as thick. Its a good phone. I've had mine for a few weeks and still getting used to it. So much better than my crappy Nokia 6160. |

Verizon does carry the phone on it's website, it just depends what area you are in...It usually takes a little longer for the phones to get into the Verizon retail stores then say a RadioShack or Authorized Dealer.

I bought a T300 earlier this week at a Verizon store and have been giving it a look. Is there a way to increase the font size on this phone? Also, has anyone tried out the sync software? The Samsung website says it will sync with MS Outlook, but the C-Net review says it doesn't?

Unfortunately you can't customize font sizes. I personally haven't used the sync software, but I haven't heard anything good about it yet. There's currently a discussion going on about this at Samsung T300 Users Group. |

I don't know of any "tricks" to get the ringtone louder...I know a lot of people complain about this, but I've never found it to be a problem.. As far as downloadable ring tones, you need the data cable and PC Link 2000 software (total of another $100). I personally don't have them. On my Samsung T300 Users Group people have complained about this software constantly and said it is very hard to use. It does inclule a way of making your own ringtones though. |

i was trying to determine between buying the sch-t300 or the sch-n300. I am planning to join Verizon in the New York area. I know the n300 has a smaller LCD display, but I'm not sure how they differ in other aspects and also in price. Please let me know.. Thanks Jacob S |

The N300 and T300 are about the same price...I think the T300 is about $30 more or so depending on your area. They are pretty comparable, although I think the extra $30 is well spent on the T300. It's a little smaller than the N300, has a better screen and better feature list. The only things the N300 has over the T300 is a little better battery life, and it is GPS enabled. You can go to Verizon's website and do a comparison on the two phones. Also check out The Samsung T300 Users Group for other poeple's opinions on the T300. |
