I live in NYC and have heard good things about Verizonicon's service here. I was wondering if anyone out there knows which phone works best (reception, speaker/ voice clarity, sturdiness etc...)--- Motorola V120c or the Verizonicon LG TM150 phone. Thanks.

Both are excellent phones. Though you mistyped it, the TM510 has a rather large nation-wide following. Its reception is stellar.

    Yahoo TM510 Group

If you can wait about one month, the TM520 is due out "later this month" (Oct.2001) according to an LG customer service rep. I just left a business card with a Verizonicon rep today and asked they call me when the TM520 becomes available. (And when the TM910 becomes available...Watch out world!!!)

You know, I like my V120, with its voice dialer and add on headpiece to turn it into an FM radio, but I'd upgrade to the LG phone in a heartbeat.

But you have to see this new Samsung phone Verizonicon just released! There are two, I don't remember thier numbers (at Radio Shack if you want to see them) but the one I'm talking about is not blue.

It has a whisper function, where you just whisper into the phone, and it sounds on the other end like you're talking in a normal voice
    AND
it has an internal answering machine, which means you store messages on the phone not on Verizonicon's system, which means you can let the voice mail take it, listen to the person leaving a message, and if you want to talk to them, you can break in. (You can screen your calls like an answering machine at home!)

It has unbelievable memory space, is the first Samsung w/ games on it, and really strong batteryicon life (longer than the typical 3-5 days standby, I'm told.)

I met the Samsung rep for this area, and I consider myself a hard sell, and I was sold.

    Hey Tony
Thanks for the information about the Samsung phones for Verizonicon. I have had a Samsung phone in the past and a Motorola phone and I must say the Samsung phone was built much better---the motorola felt more "plastic-like"... and the antenna, forget-about-it, that thing breaks instantly. So, it's good to hear Verizonicon now has a larger selection of phones.

Why on Earth would you want that? You use your minutes for the internal answering machine, need to be in a decent signal area, etc. I'll use Caller Id and let Verizonicon's FREE voice mail take the call. (not to mention you can have a page sent with the VZ VM system)
I have an answerning machine in my TM510 and it is the most useless feature of the phone! Definitely _NOT_ a selling point!

In response to Anonymous (October 18) above:

The blue one is the Samsung N150, the more expensive one T300. T300 is reviewed favorably by CNET, the N150 is on a special deal at Radio Shack (at least around Torrance, CA).

I just read all the messages in this thread no one ever said they had a link to websites for the 120C. One poster indicated that he found a menu option <u>on the phone</u> for creating tunes.

I just checked Motorola's online user manual for this phone and the manual does not seem to cover it.

Here is the only site I know of: http://www.mot.com/GSS/CSG/direct_ph...ringertone.htm

If I understand it correctly, this is only for GSM phones.

Actually Kevin, the V120C's released in Canada with Bell Mobility have this feature. I have no idea why they only released them in Canada. Maybe Canada is getting back at us , eh?

Annoyingly enough I've had the v120 for a month and the antena just popped off leaving me with no signal... It's quite annoying as the phone was great up untill this point. And they're out of stock so they can't replace it for 2 weeks at least... Damn bell...
